Detroit is a city that was founded on the working class family. So an edgy, street approach to style and fashion is always evident in my Designs. The couture side of my Designs is definitely from a global European approach, but the street side of my designs, which is edgy and urban is definitely a product of growing up in Detroit.

DONOVAN DEWBERRY

Donovan Dewberry’s work begins with fashion as a form of visual storytelling. His creative foundation is rooted in fashion illustration, which he describes as his “first love” and the force that pushed him to bring drawings and paintings into physical form through fiber, textile design, garments, and accessories. His work is also deeply shaped by the women of color in his life who have invested in him, built him up, and inspired his desire to create pieces that contribute to confidence, empowerment, and drive.

For Runway 313, Donovan Dewberry will bring bridal looks with bold silhouettes, sculptural beauty, and an avant-garde edge. His design point of view blends fashion illustration, textile craft, and garment construction into pieces that feel dramatic, artful, and made for a true entrance. Expect bridal design that does not whisper: gorgeous, expressive, and built with the kind of runway presence that turns a look into a moment.

Whether he is creating prom, eveningwear, or runway pieces, Fly Ty designs for the smile that happens when someone sees themselves in something beautiful. ​

THE BRAND

Fly Ty Creations is the custom design brand of Detroit-area designer Tyrone “Fly Ty” Hunter, a longtime force in the Detroit fashion scene known for bold formalwear, custom fitted pieces, and couture-level prom designs. A self-taught designer, Fly Ty has been creating under his own vision since the late 1990s and has built a reputation for pieces that celebrate confidence, curves, color, and full-room presence. His work spans women’s formalwear, custom children’s pieces, eveningwear, and runway-ready statement looks, with Detroit Fashion Community describing him as a staple in the local fashion industry for more than 25 years.

INSPIRATION: One of the things that inspires me most is knowing that I’m walking a path that others paved before me. That perspective keeps me grounded and reminds me that success is not just about achievement — it’s about responsibility, leadership, and opening doors for others.

A lot of it comes from moments I don’t want to forget and situations that shaped how I see things now. I also take inspiration from what I feel is missing in fashion, and try to make pieces that actually reflect something meaningful to me.

Langston Howard is a Detroit-based fashion designer and founder of LRH Made and The Top, building a high-end streetwear brand rooted in confidence, culture, and storytelling. He began designing at 12 and launched his first brand as a teen, quickly developing a distinct point of view around identity and self-expression. With upcoming collections and brand collaborations, including PacSun, he is emerging as a defining voice in next-generation fashion. ​

OCCUPATION: Anthony is a High School Student and Steven works for Ally Bank.
INSPIRATION:  Anthony has big dreams for the future. Entrepreneurship is the goal. This team works together to set goals, and achieve them. 
DETROIT ROOTS: Steven shows up for Anthony. And Anthony pays that forward in his own volunteer work, showing up for others. 
FUN FACT: Anthony loves cars and learning.

This Detroit-based brand has been showcased in several fashion shows across the country and featured in many publications, including British Vogue and Elle Magazine. The collection specializes in women’s evening wear and special occasion. Each piece is bold, sexy, and complete with unique design elements, artistic prints, and luxury fabrics. Treece’s goal is to craft garments that embody confidence and accentuate the beauty in every woman. ​

INSPIRATION: Mentoring young women to be authentic and inspire women of all ages to embrace who they are without apologies.  
DETROIT ROOTS: Detroit represents black freedom of expression so I bring that attitude to every aspect of my life!
FUN FACT: I’ve travelled with Oprah, was selected as an ageless beauty by Essence magazine. Won the MORE magazine beauty contest- selected out of thousands of women. On the cover of DETROIT HOUR magazine best dressed issue. 70 years old this year.
