The Adopt-A-Family program has brightened the holidays for thousands of local families for over twenty years. Last year, we were able to adopt the 77 families that applied to the program in record setting time. And the generosity of our community just kept flowing with 72 helping baskets, 14 donors that brought in item donations like coats, blankets and toys, and $3,000 in donated gift cards, allowing us to help many more families than initially applied for assistance. We are so grateful to everyone to helped brighten this holiday season for all of our families!    

ADOPT-A-FAMILY

Our agency will match you with a family size of your choosing for the holiday season. We will provide you with an individualized "wish list" of items from each family member, which we ask each donor to use for suggestions in determining their shopping list. Donors will wrap the gifts and drop them off at the BBBS office for our staff to deliver to the family you helped!

HELPING BASKETS 

You can donate a basket or multiple baskets of practical household items, such as cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, dish soap, toothpaste, toilet paper, shampoo, etc., that we will deliver to our families. These are items that many families often go without during the Holiday Season. We suggest and encourage that items are donated in a sturdy laundry basket for easier and safer delivery. These gifts aren't specific to a family, they will be general donations distributed to several families. 


​GIFT CARDS

Many families will benefit from gift cards to buy food, toys, gas, and household items of their own. The most useful gift cards are from Kroger, Walmart, Meijer, Target, Speedway, etc. ​


​ITEM DONATION 

This option is for NEW non perishable food items, winter clothes, and donations of toys and games for families and kids. These items don’t need to be wrapped, and don’t need to be for a specific family. We will distribute these items to families in need!​

CASH DONATION

Monetary donations are always welcome. BBBS will use the donations to "fill in the gaps" for any family that may be lacking needed items from their wish lists that were not provided by the donor, or to buy more gifts and household items to be able to support more families. Donations are also used for "emergency" wish lists for families that are suddenly facing hardships during the Holiday Season. This can be through an online donation, cash, or check.
